Butterfly Quilt
Pat's Grandma painted 12 blocks of beautiful butterflies, and Pat's Aunt pieced them into a quilt! It's a stunning piece of work and Pat will enjoy it on her bed for years to come...
I outlined the butterflies and surrounded them with background quilting. Since Pat wanted the borders to be lightly quilted, I quilted large feathers in the borders and used a simple sashing design, all in a lovely shade of Lilac Glide thread that contrasts ever so slightly with the solid purple fabric. It's difficult to capture the whole quilt in a picture (because it's so big and won't fit on any of my walls!) so we'll have to do with smaller bits.
