Barbara pieced an amazing quilt with bright solids on a black background. Each interior block was a different design. I quilted the blocks with feathered wreaths with inner crosshatching, cables in the sashing and feathers (of course!) around the borders. I used several different colors of variegated So Fine! #40 thread from Superior Threads for the quilting and Kimono Silk for the stitch in the ditch. Barbara wisely chose a black batting, which prevented white batting fuzz from showing on the black top. She is finishing it with a special binding technique using red fabric - I can't wait to see the finished project!
