Lovely Cross-Stitched Quilt

I finally finished this lovely quilt that was cross-stitched by Kay and pieced by Kristy. Kay cross-stitched 20 blocks to go into this beauty! She and Kristy picked out the perfect fabrics to set off the stitching, and I added custom quilting with star flowers in the borders and cornerstones, different 8 pointed star shaped motifs in the centers, and a curvy background fill.

  1. Hi! I know this post is old, but since I'm working on a quilt with this exact quilt block, I'm wondering if you can tell me whether there was any issue with getting the pre-printed quilting lines to wash out. I want to change the quilting pattern, but not if the little blue dots are going to stay there. Any suggestions or experience with this? Thanks!

    1. Thanks for your comment - I do believe there were issues with getting the blue marks out. My suggestions are to keep the fabric away from heat sources such as an iron or direct sunlight and soak the finished quilt in lots of water. I found an interesting post on this topic at the website below (don't know if it works or not, but it's worth a try...):

Good luck to you - hope this helps!
